    ### [Construction work between Duisburg and Essen – special RE 100 service begins](https://www.vrr.de/en/construction-work-between-duisburg-and-essen-disruption-on-numerous-services/)

     31. August 2026 Starting in Sept. extensive construction work will take place in the Duisburg and Essen area. There will be service restrictions on numerous lines. However, RE 100 will connect Essen and Düsseldorf.
