By bus and train to Grönemeyer, Ed Sheeran & PUR: how to travel stress-free to the top events in summer 2025

 Whether it's Gamescom, Ruhrort Harbour Festival, San Hejmo Festival or the eagerly awaited Fanta 4 concert - numerous major events are coming up in the VRR area over the next few weeks. So that you can travel to your favourite events stress-free and comfortably by bus and train, we have put together all the important information on how to get there - without having to worry about parking!

 Which events take place in the VRR area?
----------------------------------------

- **Gamescom** - 20 to 24 August 2025
    The biggest trade fair in the gaming world in Cologne.
- **Fanta 4 concert** in Essen - 29 August 2025
    The legendary concert by the Fantastischen Vier - a German hip-hop classic.
- **Cro concert** in Essen - 30 August 2025
    The popular rapper Cro makes the stage shake.
- **Kölner Lichter** - 30 August 2025
    The popular fireworks event on the Rhine returns after a five-year break.
- **Herbert Grönemeyer** in Dortmund - 2 to 8 September 2025
    The Ruhr area icon sings "Mittendrin" in the Westfalenhalle.
- **PUR and Friends** - 05 and 06 September 2025
    The band celebrates with celebrity guests in the [VELTINS Arena](https://veltins-arena.de/events/pur-and-friends-2025/) in Gelsenkirchen.
- **Ed Sheeran** in Düsseldorf - 05 to 07 September 2025
    The Brit enchants fans in the Ruhr region with his music for an entire weekend.
