# Timetable change 2025: What will change for you in the VRR | VRR

What you need to know about the 2025 timetable change
======================================================

 With the timetable change on 14 December 2025, there is good news for commuters in the VRR. The service will be expanded on several S-Bahn, RE and RB lines. You will benefit from more connections, additional stations and - depending on the line - more seats. The service will become more attractive, especially for leisure travellers.

### **Line RB 34**

- The line also runs **every 60 minutes at weekends**, with the first journey on Sundays at around 7 am.

### **Line RB 35**

- On Mondays to Fridays, the **service closes one hour later**, with one **additional journey** in each direction.
- The line now also runs **on Saturdays** from approx. 9 am to approx. 9 pm.

### **Line RB 39**

- **On Saturdays**, all trains run **continuously from/to Düsseldorf Hbf**.
- The 0.06 a.m. journey from Neuss Hbf to Grevenbroich starts daily **at 11.54 p.** m. in Düsseldorf Hbf, in the opposite direction the 0.34 a.m. journey from Grevenbroich is **extended** daily to Düsseldorf Hbf.

### **Line RB 46**

- The 30-minute interval on Mondays to Fridays will be **extended by 2 hours until approx. 9 p.m.**: There will be additional departures from **Bochum main station** at 7.19 p.m. and 8.19 p.m. and from **Gelsenkirchen main station** at 7.16 p.m. and 8.16 p.m.

### **RE 16 / RB 91 lines**

- **All journeys** to/from Iserlohn on the RB 91 line are operated under the **RE 16** line number.

### **RE 1 line (RRX)**

- Several journeys on weekend nights run at **higher capacity** thanks to the use of double traction.

### **RE 10 line**

- On Mondays to Thursdays and on Sundays, the **service closes later** and there is an **additional journey** in each direction: From Kleve, the additional journey runs at 11.54 pm to Düsseldorf Hbf. The 0.08 a.m. journey from Düsseldorf Hbf is extended to Kleve, an **additional journey** runs at 1.38 a.m. from Düsseldorf Hbf to Krefeld Hbf.

### **RE 19 line**

- The **order of the train sections will be changed**. From Düsseldorf, the front section of the train will run to Bocholt and the rear section towards Emmerich/Arnhem.
- In the evenings and on Sunday mornings, some journeys will run with **higher capacity** thanks to the use of double traction between Düsseldorf and Wesel. This also results in **additional transfer-free connections** to/from Bocholt.

### **Line S 6**

- The restoration of the tracks after the landslide near Hösel has been completed, so that the **S 6 line** can **once again** run **on schedule** between **Essen** and **Düsseldorf**.

### **Line S 9**

- The "**Herten-Westerholt**" station goes **into operation** and is served by all journeys on the S 9 line to/from Recklinghausen.
- The "**Gelsenkirchen-Buer Nord**" station is **served twice as frequently**. Journeys to/from Recklinghausen also serve the extended station.
