Extensive construction work in June 2025
In summer 2025, there will be extensive construction work on several sections of track in the VRR area, which will restrict train services. Passengers on the RE 47, RB 50, RB 51 and S 1 lines are among those affected by the construction work.
The details are given below:
Line RB 50 and RB 51 - route Dortmund Hbf to Lünen Hbf
Friday, 20.06.2025 (21:00) to Monday, 25.07.2025 (06:00):
- Trains on lines RB 50 and RB 51 will be cancelled between Dortmund Hbf and Lünen Hbf.
- Rail replacement buses (SEV) will run between Dortmund Hbf and Lünen Hbf. Please note that the buses of the rail replacement service (SEV) for the RB 51 trains between Dortmund-Kirchderne and Dortmund-Derne also stop at the Dortmund-Kirchderne U-Bahn stop.
In the period from 30 June 2025 to 25 August 2025, there will be an extended closure section between Lünen and Lüdinghausen during the night.
Line S 1, RE 47 - route between Düsseldorf and Solingen
Friday, 02.05.2025 (21:00) until Friday 11.12.2025 (21:00)
- There will be restrictions on train services on the S1 and RE 47 lines between Düsseldorf and Solingen.
- Replacement buses will run with all stops on the S1 between Düsseldorf and Solingen. In addition, an express bus(RE 47) will run between Düsseldorf and Solingen without intermediate stops.

The timetable changes are included in the VRR and DB online timetable information before the start of the construction work.
Tickets are not available on the buses. Tickets for buses and trains can be purchased online via the app or at the stations (not at the bus stops) from the ticket machines or in the customer centres.
