eezy.nrw is your digital ticket where the price is calculated based on your journey. How does it work? Simply check in and out in the VRR app and your fare will be calculated across NRW!

The most frequently asked questions about our eezy.nrw ticket

  • Regardless of the route taken, eezy.nrw charges a base price (of €1.73 per journey started) and the direct air line (29 cents per kilometre of air line started) in the VRR.
  • The base price of eezy.nrw is valid for seven hours. After that, it is charged again.
  • The journey can be interrupted as often as desired during this time.
  • Bicycle transport can be booked with eezy.nrw for €4.60 for 24 hours.

If your device's location detection is enabled and you are no longer in a public transport vehicle, the app will first ask if you want to check out. After 30 minutes, another notification will appear. Only after 420 minutes will you be automatically checked out and the journey tracked up to that point will be calculated. In this case, you may need to contact the support team of your contract transport company for a price recalculation.

No, but you don't need one anymore, as you simply check in at the start of your journey. Thanks to automatic registration and billing, with eezy.nrw you always have the right ticket for your journey.

The basis for calculating the fare is the distance as the crow flies between the start and end points of the journey, i.e. the shortest distance. The price consists of a fixed base price per journey plus a working price per kilometre as the crow flies.

Without checking in, you will not receive a digital ticket (travel authorisation). If your ticket is checked, you will be fined, i.e. charged an increased transport fee (EBE) of 60 euros.

eezy.nrw is an electronic fare (eTarif) that you can use with an app on your smartphone. The ticket price consists of a base price and a price per kilometre and is calculated based on the distance between your starting point and destination as the crow flies.

No, with eezy.nrw, you will never pay more than the price of a comparable EinzelTicket (single ticket) for your journey in 2nd class.

In addition, the price for accompanying children is also capped at the corresponding single ticket price for children. This cost protection also applies to transitional fares that may be travelled on with VRR tickets according to the VRR fare schedule.
 

Yes. For each 24-hour period, adults with eezy.nrw in the VRR never pay more than €28.90 per person for all journeys made in 2nd class, and children pay only €14.45. A 24-hour period begins with the first check-in and ends 24 hours later. If one of the journeys is not completed within the 24-hour period, it counts as the first journey of a new 24-hour period.

In addition, both adults and children never pay more than €63 per calendar month in 2nd class. The price cap per month corresponds to the current price of the DeutschlandTicket. Passengers are bound by the periods of the person carrying them.
 

When travelling with eezy.nrw in the VRR, the price caps per journey and 24 hours in 1st class increase by 50% in line with the fare calculation in 1st class. The price cap per calendar month does not apply in 1st class.
 

The following price caps apply to journeys across multiple transport networks with eezy.nrw:

  • Per journey: Never more than the price of a single ticket for North Rhine-Westphalia (in 2nd class).
  • Per 24 hours: Adults max. €30.20, children max. €17.60 (in 1st class +50% in each case).
  • Per month: Monthly cap of €63 for 2nd class.

Accompanying persons are bound by the periods of the main person.
