Transport companies

33 municipal transport companies and 7 railway companies work together in the VRR. Together, they provide a well-connected local transport service. The municipal companies operate buses, trams, and underground trains. The railway companies are responsible for regional trains in the network area.

Since 15 December 2019, Transdev Vertrieb GmbH has taken over ticket sales at railway stations and regional rail transport stops in our region. For passengers, this means that at VRR stations, the route no longer leads to DB Red, but to VRR Green. In the cities and districts, ticket sales will remain the responsibility of the municipal transport companies.
