Safe travel on public transport: guided tours for passengers in April and May 2025
Have you ever felt uncomfortable on a bus or train and wondered how to react correctly in such moments? Almost everyone is familiar with such situations. To address precisely this, the Competence Centre for Safety NRW (KCS) is offering two safety tours for the first time. You will gain exciting insights behind the scenes of public transport and learn how security is organised, what measures are taken and how you yourself can actively contribute to a better sense of security.
Insights into the world of security
Together with the Federal Police, Deutsche Bahn, Ruhrbahn and BOGESTRA, the KCS provides practical information on how technical security solutions work and what services are available at railway stations and in vehicles. You will also receive practical tips for everyday life on local transport. Particularly helpful: during the guided tours, you have the opportunity to put your questions directly to the experts. The aim of the format is to make safety more tangible and to strengthen your personal sense of safety.
The first event was successfully held on 28 Januaryin Essen.
Two more dates are still to come: on 3 April in Bochum and on 20 May in Essen.
