Construction work in the Düsseldorf area: Disruptions on services RE 4 (RRX), RE 10, RE 13, RB 39, S 28 and S 68
From 4 September to 2 October 2026, there will be service restrictions on services RE 4, RE 10, RE 13, RB 39, S 28 and S 68 due to engineering works in the Düsseldorf area.
Construction work in the Düsseldorf area: Disruptions on services RE 4 (RRX), RE 10, RE 13, RB 39, S 28 and S 68
DB InfraGO is carrying out extensive works between Düsseldorf Central Station, Düsseldorf-Gerresheim and the Hochdahl junction. At the same time, preparatory work is beginning on the replacement of the ‘Ronsdorfer Straße’ railway bridge in Düsseldorf.
The following lines are affected
- RE 4: The additional services during peak hours between Düsseldorf Central Station and Aachen Central Station will be cancelled. In addition, there will be partial cancellations on various sections of the route on certain nights.
- RE 10: Service suspended between Krefeld and Düsseldorf Central Station from 11 to 18 September 2026
- RE 13: Service suspended between Wuppertal and Mönchengladbach Central Station
- RB 39: Service suspended between Neuss and Düsseldorf Central Station from 4 to 11 September 2026
- S 28: Replacement bus service between Düsseldorf-Gerresheim and Mettmann Stadtwald. Between 8 pm and 4 am, the replacement buses will run as far as Düsseldorf Central Station.
- S 68: Service suspended between Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and Düsseldorf Central Station
The S 8 is running as scheduled.

Construction work will begin on 4 September 2026 at 9.00 pm and is expected to last until 2 October 2026 at 9.00 pm. Details of the affected services will be published shortly on electronic information displays and announced via notices on the platforms.
