Tips for smooth bike transport

How bicycle transport works in the VRR

  • Taking your bike with you is ideal for flexible and environmentally friendly travelling. As a general rule, please enquire in advance with your (railway) transport company about the respective regulations for taking bicycles with you. Under this link you will find an Overview of transport companies

  • You need an appropriate ticket to take your bike with you on the VRR. With the Ticket2000 the carriage is included in the ticket. Folding bikes or folding bikes that are transported folded up can be taken on buses and trains free of charge.

  • Bicycle areas are marked with bicycle symbols. Please use the available fastening options and use your own means of securing your bicycle.

  • If possible, avoid peak times and show consideration for other passengers. Passengers with reduced mobility have priority.

  • Pay attention to the available space. Access to doors and aisles must be guaranteed at all times.
