Important information: Transitional arrangements for 2025 tickets
There will be changes to the VRR fare at the turn of the year 2024/2025. Here you can find out which regulations apply to tickets already purchased and how long you can still use them.
Tickets at the tariff status as of 1 January 2024
Sale and use
Tickets such as single tickets, 4-trip tickets, 10-trip tickets, 4-hour tickets, 24/48-hour tickets, bicycle tickets and additional tickets at the 2024 price level are available until 31 December 2024 at midnight. Tickets already purchased can be used until 31 March 2025 (closing time).
Exchange
Have you bought 4-trip tickets or 10-trip tickets in advance and not used them or only partially used them? You can exchange these for tickets at the current fare until 31 December 2027 - you only pay the difference, there is no processing fee.
Monthly tickets
December monthly passes and associated surcharges, for example for first class, are valid until 2 January 2025 (closing date). From January 2025, monthly passes will only be available at the new price.
Tickets as of 1 January 2025
Sale and use
Certain ticket types and price levels will no longer be available from 1 March 2025, but you can still use them as follows until then:
- 10erTickets, 4-StundenTickets, HappyHourTickets, 48-StundenTickets, 4er ZusatzTickets and digital 4erTickets will be available until 28 February 2025 and valid until 31 December 2025 (closing time).
- SingleTickets, 4-seaterTickets and 24-hourTickets in the discontinued price levels are available until 28 February 2025 and are valid until 31 December 2025 (end of service).
- Subscriptions such as Ticket1000, YoungTicketPlus and BärenTicket are only available until 28 February 2025 and will expire automatically thereafter.
- 30-day tickets and FlexTickets can be purchased for the last time on 30 January 2025 and are valid until 28 February 2025. Single tickets for these offers will remain available in February.
- Monthly tickets for February can be used until 3 March 2025.
Exchange
Unused or only partially used 4-trip tickets and 10-trip tickets from the period 1 January to 28 February 2025 can be exchanged for new tickets until 29 February 2028. Here, too, you only pay the difference; there is no processing fee.
